We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our fast-paced team. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a key role in driving the technical direction of our projects, with a primary focus on design, implementation of best practices and reusable patterns, and endorse new designs and patterns for wider usage.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop scalable solutions using wide tech stack. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a passion for building robust systems.

This role is part of the Data Product Capability Crew within Chief Data Analytic Office (CDAO), where we design and deliver cutting-edge technology solutions that serve data and analytical use-cases.
We are seeking an outstanding Staff Software Engineer to join our team and help to shape the direction of our data and analytics platforms that we are building.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, develop and deploy high quality software solutions with comprehensive test coverage.
Analyse business objectives and identify functional and non-functional requirements.
Design and implement technical solutions for functional and non-functional requirements.
Provide accurate estimates for the development effort for new features.
Continuously improve and improvise to find the best solutions for business and technical teams
Provide mentoring and technical assistance to other members of the team.
Work well with different team members whilst practicing knowledge sharing and T-shaping
Apply and promote industry best patterns and practices with focus on test automation.
Take ownership of initiatives and assets and follow up to provide highest quality of customer service
Contribute to the strategic engineering goals within own team / platform

Technical Skills:
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;
Expert in API development preferably Java/J2EE (Spring) or Python (FastAPI) and REST APIs.
Working knowledge of Kafka and exp with Microservice Architecture, Design Patterns and best practices.
Soft skills: Excellent communication skills. Working experience with Agile methodologies.
Cloud: Experience on cloud migrations and deployment, with preference for AWS cloud
CI/CD: expertise with usage and configuration of fully automated pipelines is useful. This includes GitHub Actions, Artifactory and Azure DevOps.
Understanding of DevSecOps/SRE Best Practices
Artificial Intelligence: Experience in AI technologies, particularly around tooling enhancements will be valued.
Familiarity in event-driven architectures (Kafka, MQ) and orchestration (Apache Camel, Temporal, Mulesoft)
Data engineering: expertise in building a data lake using real-time and near real-time services, along with data transformation, aggregation, and offering through API endpoints
Databases: Relational databases (e.g. Postgres / Oracle), as well as data warehousing and No-SQL databases (MongoDB).
