As a Lead Software Engineer, you will…
… you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital solutions within an international, agile team of professionals. Working in a dynamic telecommunications environment, you will be responsible for designing, and delivering scalable, high-quality microservices that drive omni-channel engagement across multiple markets.
Beyond development, you will set technical direction, enforce best practices, and drive engineering excellence. Your role includes mentoring and guiding engineers, conducting thorough code reviews, and leading engineering forums to foster knowledge-sharing and cross-team collaboration. You will work closely with architects and engineers to align solution designs with business goals, tackling complex technical challenges while ensuring adherence to Engineering Excellence principles—such as performance optimization, security by design, and automation. As a key technical leader, you will serve as the last line of defense to guarantee robust, secure, and high-performing solutions.
Additionally, you will own and maintain the microservices catalog while applying Lean, Agile, and open-source development principles to enhance efficiency and drive continuous innovation.
Who we're looking for:
A successful team thrives on strong leadership, clear vision, and a high-performance culture. A self-driven, solution-oriented Lead Software Engineer is essential for such a team, especially one who is passionate about making an impact on end users. Extensive experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams, fostering collaboration and a culture of continuous improvement. Proven experience in software design, microservices, event-driven architectures, and API development ensures that the team can build scalable, efficient, and innovative solutions. Expertise in Java and Spring Boot is key to developing robust product software, while hands-on skills with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm allow for effective container orchestration, facilitating streamlined development and deployment processes.
A deep understanding of DevOps principles is also vital, enabling the automation of workflows, the implementation of infrastructure as code, and the creation of efficient CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools, such as Grafana and Prometheus, enhances the ability to track performance and ensure system reliability. Experience with maintaining and contributing to open-source projects can be an added advantage, as it encourages collaboration and innovation. Furthermore, knowledge of TeleManagement Forum (TMF) standards can be beneficial for aligning solutions with industry best practices. Finally, fluency in English and the ability to deliver clear, engaging presentations to an engineering audience strengthens communication within the team and with external stakeholders.
