Job Description:

Merkle are currently looking for a Senior Developer who is looking to lead projects, engage in discussions to find the best solutions for our clients, and coaching the team. You are expected to stay updated with technology developments and help spread this knowledge. You are comfortable applying compliance regulations directly in frontend architecture or advising on them during implementation. You understand how to design and build large-scale frontend projects designed for long-term development. You know when to prioritize delivery speed and when to emphasize scalable, maintainable solutions.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience doing web development
  • Technically proficient front-end engineer with a creative mindset and a strong commitment to code quality and performance, specializing in the Vue, Nuxt, TypeScript, and SCSS ecosystem.
  • Ability to lead front-end projects and make decisions collaboratively. Strong communication skills and comfort in handling client dialogue.
  • Experience in creating the right front-end architecture for the right solution.
  • Independent, proactive, and goal-oriented attitude.
  • Naturally curious and up to date with the latest technologies.
  • Thorough and disciplined in your work, with a focus on testing, quality auditing, and constant optimization.

Experience and Opinions On:

  • JavaScript and CSS frameworks, designing for multiple devices and screen sizes, web design, performance, animation, accessibility, and digital communication.
  • Always updated on modern front-end technologies, languages, frameworks, methods, platforms, and tools.
  • “Security by Design” principles at an architectural level, with a strong understanding of compliance frameworks (EAA, NIS 2, GDPR, EU AI Act, cookie consent). Skilled in identifying when and how to address these considerations and in guiding client discussions accordingly.
  • Proficiency with AI-assisted development workflows—leveraging tools for code generation, debugging, and automation. Familiarity with agentic coding patterns
  • Experience working with different Content management systems.
  • Bonus if you have experience with React/Next, relevant for some of our projects.

Benefits:

  • A nice pension scheme + health insurance
  • Weekly Friday bars (yup, your weekend buzz is on us!)
  • Daily-cious breakfast and lunch from our in-house chefs
  • An unlimited amount of coffee, tea and supportive colleagues
  • Wine tasting club, running club, game nights, grand parties, fun events

We have employees who've stayed with us for 5, 10, 15, and even 20 years! There's room for you to be yourself, including dressing however you like.
