As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Banking Payment Technology Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Design and implement database solutions based on business requirements.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Ensure data integrity and security across all database systems.
  • Collaborate with software developers to integrate databases with applications.
  • Monitor database performance and make necessary improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to database design and development.
  • Perform regular database backups and recovery operations.
  • Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Proven experience as a Database Developer 
  • Strong knowledge of leading the end-to-end migration of data from WPI to iAccess (a must)
  • Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database design and development.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and database design concepts.
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
  • Knowledge of data security and privacy practices.
  • Customer focus, Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently, plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a rapidly changing environment

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
