DescriptionAs a Lead Software Engineer within the Alts Platform group, you lead a technical team that works to build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products on a green field project. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your team and being a driver of innovation and solution delivery.
Job responsibilities
- Leads a team of high potential software engineers, delivering high quality software that achieves functional objectives
- Carries accountability for coding decisions and achieving measures of success
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
- Develops secure high-quality code, reviews and debugs code written by the team
- Ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues
- Leads evaluation sessions with other internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs
- Mentors and coaches team members, with a focus on building and managing industry leading products exceeding business expectations
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on IT architecture concepts and proficient advanced experience
- Experience leading cross-functional teams of technologists
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced knowledge of front-end languages and frameworks (e.g. typescript/react)
- Advanced knowledge of server-side languages and frameworks (e.g. Java/SpringBoot)
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages
- Experience in Microservices architecture
- Proficient in Database technologies
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Practical cloud native experience – AWS preferred
