As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Enterprise Technology Employee Platforms, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Leads and maintains business processes (e.g. configuration documents, JIRA practices, SR tracking, etc.)
- Leads functional testing of the enhancements (reducing / minimizing defects)
- Reviews Oracle release notes in advance and conducts impact analysis
- Ensures security and release processes are followed to reduce risk
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Identifies (Proactively) hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Maintains system training and knowledge to ensure design is optimal, holistic, and thorough
- Identifies and applies lessons learned and acquired knowledge to limit production defects
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Strong experience with Oracle Core Human Resources Modules (HCM, OTBI and HDL/HSDL)
