As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Banking - Markets Technology, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

 

  • Aligning technical strategy with other partner teams across the bank to deliver a complete and coherent experience for Athena Developers
  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Partner with a global team of engineers through a transformation of the Athena Core Platform to a resilient and scalable cloud based architecture
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering
  • Working knowledge of load balancing and service orchestration, both on-prem and in public cloud environments
  • Proficient in one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Python, Java
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Practical Cloud-native and Kubernetes experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
 
  • Experience running Kubernetes (AWS EKS) at large scale for financial organizations where scaling, resiliency, security, monitoring and audit trail etc. will be prioritized 
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code products, preferably Terraform
  • Experience in one or more public cloud platforms (ideally AWS)
  • Experience in DevOps will be considered an advantage
