A-TEK Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Software Developer to join our remote team. This individual will play a pivotal role in architecting and delivering robust, secure, and scalable applications, working across the full software development stack with a strong emphasis on cloud-native technologies and workflow management systems. The ideal candidate brings not only technical expertise but also leadership skills to guide agile teams through modern software engineering best practices in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead full-stack development projects from conception to deployment, ensuring high performance and responsiveness of applications.
• Architect, design, and implement secure, scalable, and cloud-ready solutions using industry best practices.
• Provide technical direction and mentoring to junior developers, conducting code reviews and setting coding standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, DevOps engineers, QA testers, and business stakeholders.
• Utilize the Drools Rules Engine to design and manage complex workflows and decision automation.
• Implement and maintain enterprise applications using Oracle APEX, Java, Spring Boot, and Angular.
• Ensure compliance with secure coding standards and regulations relevant to public sector or healthcare-focused environments.
• Champion Agile/Scrum methodologies, contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, with demonstrated leadership in full-stack application design and development.
• Proficiency in:
• Oracle APEX
• Java & Spring Boot
• Angular (latest versions)
• Drools Rules Engine (workflow and decision management)
• Hands-on experience developing secure applications in regulated environments (e.g., federal government, healthcare).
• Strong understanding of cloud-native design principles, RESTful API development, and microservices architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude toward identifying and resolving issues.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform.
• Experience integrating applications with relational databases and writing optimized SQL queries.

Other Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Must be able to obtain and retain a Public Trust Tier 2 Moderate Risk Clearance.
• This is a remote position; candidates must be comfortable with distributed team collaboration and willing to attend periodic meetings in the DC Metro area.
